Castle Gym: Building Update - March 2025

Alright, folks, Ray here again, and let me tell you, March has been a proper workout! Not the kind you do on a treadmill, mind you, but the kind that leaves you with aching muscles and a newfound respect for concrete.
We've been tearing things down this month, making way for the new and improved Castle Gym. And when I say "tearing things down," I mean it! That front shutter? Gone! The old mosaic? History! And the entire front of the building? Well, let's just say it's looking a whole lot different these days.
Now, I'm not one to shy away from a bit of hard work, but even I have to admit, wielding that breaker was something else. Breaking up all that concrete… my hands were numb, I tell you! And the thing kept cutting out from overheating, just when I was getting into a rhythm. Still shaking a bit, to be honest. It's a young man's game, some might say, but I'm showing them that old dogs can still learn new tricks!
But it's all worth it, seeing the progress we're making. We're getting down to the bare bones, ready to build something truly special. Oh, and the groundworkers are in now, finally! End of this month, they turned up, digging holes ready to pour the concrete in. It's a real sight to see.
One of the toughest jobs this month, though, was getting rid of those stairs. My word, that was a mission! Days of cutting and hacking, then organising scrap men to come and haul it all away. But we got it done, and that's what counts.
It's been a month of demolition, a month of sweat and grit, but also a month of real progress. We're clearing the way for the future of Castle Gym, and I can't wait to see what April brings.
Until next time, may the pump be with you!
Ray.
